Create your first class with Kobbl

Kobbl's lesson plans and schemes of work are designed to be "class first". Everything we do, revolves around the notion that knowing the class - their abilities, needs and foibles - is key to designing a successful lesson. So for that reason, the first thing you'll be asked to do when logging in to the app is to Create Your First Class.
Step 1. Create a class
When you choose this option, you'll see this screen.
Let's explore what each of these things do:
- class name - this is for you to identify the class in the app
- key stage - this helps our models use the appropriate curriculum when designing lessons/schemes of works
- Tell us about your class - you can choose to provide more information about your class now, or at a later point. The more we know, the better the lessons will be, but you can always add to this section.
- Class dynamics, preferences, additional needs - in your own words, tell us about your class! You can structure this any way you like; our AI will pull out a list of adaptations and recommendations that it has taken from your summary, and share it with you when you click "create my class profile".
When you press submit, you'll be taken to your class view.
Step 2. The Class View
Here you'll see a list of considerations on the left hand side. Clicking through these headings will give you more insight into how we've processed your information.
Each item will contain
- Consideration
- Details - the details of the need that will be included in all future lesson planning for this class
- Which best defines how this consideration applies to your class? - this field takes into account whether this is a small scale consideration (for 1 or 2 people) or affects the class more broadly.
All of these fields are editable - just alter the text as you desire and hit "save changes" below. If there are any you disagree with, these can be deleted.
You can also add a consideration if you feel like something has been completely missed. Just press Add below the list of needs.
Once you're happy with your class summary, you can just straight into either lesson plans or a scheme of work.
Step 3 - Start planning!
With your class set up, you're ready to go. You can check out How to plan a lesson with Kobbl for a step-by-step guide on how to plan a lesson, or - if you're interested in creating a series of lessons, check out how to create a scheme of work.
